Hello Parents and Friends!
Thank you for your interest in Preschool SJK (C) Air Kuning Selatan.  Preschool SJK (C) Air Kuning Selatan is operated since 2004. A committee is elected when the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held to be responsible for preschool activities, fund raising and etc. All our committee are parents elected by parents. We need ALL our parents to be involved and we value your ideas and help. Government funding for Preschool SJK (C) Air Kuning Selatan. Fees are totally free and included all meals and snacks once your child has with me.
In our happy, friendly environment, structured play and basic early learning skills are positively encouraged under the supervision of our regular, caring and qualified staff. We work to at least ensuring that each child receives the utmost care and attention. We accept applications for a Pre-school place at ages 5 and 6.


What your child will learn
Children will learn to develop their independence and social skills, playing with, and alongside their contemporaries. Some of the activities include painting, gluing, cutting, construction, drawing and imaginitive play. They learn to sit and listen to stories, sing songs or use musical instruments. These promote hand-eye co-ordination, build self-esteem, and encourage self-expression.

Our Curriculum
The curriculum enables kindergarten children to acquire basic communication, social and other positive skills in preparation for primary schooling. Specifically, the aim of kindergarten education is to develop children’s skills in the following aspects.Our curriculum covers the areas of learning and development such as Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication, Language and Literacy; Intellectual Skills (Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy); Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Physical Development, Spiritual Skills and Aesthetical Aspects.


Social Skills
The social skill components focus on children’s interaction with the environment and the people in their surroundings, development of positive self-concept, discipline, social responsibilities, and positive attitudes towards learning. The children are encouraged to share, work as part of a group, develop personal hygiene, builds confidence and self-esteem.

Communication, Language and Literacy
The children are encouraged to express themselves, talk and listen, use and enjoy books, and recognise and write their own names and some alphabet letters.

Intellectual Skills (Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy)
The intellectual skill components emphasise physical environment, the concepts of space, numbers, alphabets, and prerequisites for writing, reading and language competencies. The children are encouraged to recognise shapes and patterns, compare, sort and match objects, recognise and use numbers to 20.

Knowledge and Understanding
The children are encouraged to talk about their families, the past and present, where they live, explore features of living things, question why things happen and how they work, and to use technology to support their learning.

Physical Development
The physical development components focus on the physical activities that involve co-ordination of the various parts of the body such as the head, hand, leg, eye and fingers. The children are encouraged to move confidently with increasing control, use a range of large and small equipment, use balancing and climbing apparatus and to handle appropriate tools, objects, construction and malleable materials safely and with increasing control.

Spiritual Skill
The spiritual skill components emphasise the inculcation of noble values and believe in God.

 Aesthetical Aspects
The aesthetical aspects on the other hand, train the children to express themselves through their hand-made creations, drawings, music and movement. The children are encouraged to explore sound, colour, texture, shape, space and form, respond in a variety of ways to what they see, hear, smell, touch and feel, to observe and listen, use imagination through art, music, dance, stories and imaginative play, and to use a wide range of musical instruments.
